The Chihuahua puppies had some friends over today. Wangja, the Papillon (used to be my mom's but he now lives with my mom's friend, who also brought her Shih Tzu), and the Shih Tzu, whose name is pretty much impossible for me to phonetically render into English from Korean and so I'm not going to even try. Here are some pics of the dogs playing! Wangja is almost a year old, the Chihuahuas (Coco and Kola) are 6 mos. (Kola is the black and brown female, Coco is the black and white male), and the Shih Tzu is the grandma (he's around 10 I think).

The first 30 minutes or so were a little tense. The dogs were busy establishing a pecking order. Wangja definitely came out the top dog - in fact, Kola, the girl, was terrified of him for the first hour. Coco was a lot more aggressive but even so, both Chihuahua puppies quickly acknowledged Wangja as top dog (as you can see from some of the pics). Now they're all happily running around and having fun!

I love dogs! They look so happy running around in the grass!!

They are all toooo cute! I love tiny dogs, but DH hates them so I fear there are none in my future.

Puppies.....I'm in puppy heaven. I just want to snuggle with them all!

Looks like they had fun playing with each other!

I used to like little dogs, but I think that after owning cats (plus the fact that I'm getting older), I like the calmness and quiet of cats :cheeky:

Anyhoo, I was wondering if the "Shih tzu" is mixed with a Pekingnese? I just to have a Shih Tzu, and he looked very different than the one in your pictures.

awwwwwwwwwww

What a yardful of adorables, B.E.G.! They're darling. Don't think i've ever seen pics even of puppy Chihuahuas. Is there a puppy made that doesn't make you drool? Don't think so. They're having so much fun, it's neat to see. Thanks for sharing.

I had to chuckle -- first time I've seen a shih tzu bigger than anything!

Thanks guys! It was chaotic, but a fun chaotic, having all four of them around. By the end of the day, all the dogs were exhausted, and so was I from running around after them with a camera in hand (I'm really out of shape!).

Jaysonsmom, you know, I googled images and I think you're right and the Shih Tzu must be crossed with something. He's not ours and I just took my mom's friend's (the owner) word when she said Shih Tzu (since I'd never really seen one in person before). He's a sweet old dog and Wangja, the Papillon, has enough energy for three puppies, so I think he gets overwhelmed at the disruption of his nice quiet life! :P

It could be but could also be all Shih Tzu, though probably backyard-bred. He's been clipped or shaved so hard to tell.

Anyway, it's neat you know people with other small dogs for a play session -- so good for all of them & the big ones at dog parks might overwhelm them a bit. Although most small dogs are BIG DOGS inside!'
