Fi's birthday is coming up, and I'm having a tough time picking out a present for him. My idea, so far, is an electric razor. His previous one has gone MIA, and he was just talking about it the other day, even though he didn't use it much when he had it. Amazon has a deal going, where they'll give me $30 off of the model I was thinking of, bringing it down to about $60. Thoughts?

Do you know if he prefers shaving while in the shower or when dry? Also do you know if he prefers using a single foil cutter or one like you linked to with three rotating heads?

I personally like the single foils, and I like Braun for that. But it is a preference led choice.

Razor or no razor, my advice is to give him something he really wants but hasn't been able to get himself to buy. Doesn't have to be expensive. He'll like having it and you getting it for him.

Example: I like to cook and have functional but cheap knives. Can't get myself to get nice ones (feels like a splurge to me) but would love to have some

Some guys don't like electric razors because it gives them ingrown hairs.
(My SO is this way. - I almost got him an electric razor and he stopped me.)

I'm not a fan of practical gifts. If he like practical gifts then the electric razor is a great idea.

I subscribe to Cedar Rapids philosophy and try to get my DH thing he likes but wouldn't splurge on for himself not things he would buy either way.

I want to do as Gypsy and CR say, but for me it seems nearly impossible. I have the hardest time buying DH gifts that he'd like. I've bought him an electric razor before.

I bought my husband the 24 series box set for Christmas. He really wanted it for years but kept saying he didn't want to fork out so much money on dvds. He was beyond thrilled when he opened the box. If your DH likes practical gifts then get the razor... otherwise get him something he has wanted for ages but hasn't gotten round to buying for himself. :))

Hmm he might be using a cheap razor and refusing to upgrade to a better one cos the crappy one 'works just fine'. So that might be covered already.

Otherwise, yeah. Many guys are innately practical, and they want to up the pizzazz factor in a lot of practical things but just can't summon up the will to do so.

Electric toothbrush, nicer kitchen toys, nice knives, new tech toy, better computer monitor, nice branded wallet, calvin klein boxers...
