Well, I wouldn’t say I’m an expert! But I think it looks pretty good. 1.3 on the bottom of the shank seems a little small to me but that’s just my opinion based on rings I’ve had made; the smallest at that point for me has been 1.5.

I think it looks very close to the inspiration ring!

I am awaiting my first piece from Provence! I picked one of their standard pieces and will post the CAD and ring when the ring arrives on Monday. The price was great!

Thank you @eapj that’s what I was thinking too!

When did you place your order?

December 28. It’s a band so not as exciting as your project but the video the rep sent before shipping looked great so I can’t wait to see it in person!

I was getting worried because I sent a deposit a week ago and didn’t get a CAD until today. Some people were saying they got theirs within days. But I’m very excited now! @eapj

@tonielle I think @eapj is absolutely correct. The cad looks really close to the original, but you should bump up the thickness for durability .If you have strong preferences on your prongs make sure they know! I love the claw prong look, but think sloppy prongs can be very distracting .Good luck!

I agree that it should be closer to 1.5-1.6 mm so it doesn’t get misshapen over time. The bottom’s of rings seem to take the most abuse. My only other thought is the height on this. It looks close to your inspiration ring but it seems to be sitting a bit higher. Maybe if they could soften up the ‘V’ so they could drop the stone down a bit. I have two very similar ring sets that I wanted to have made as ‘flush fits’. They both are between 7.8-7.9 mm and around 2.5 carat stones so I know they can drop it down a bit if that is important to you.

@swaye2010 hmmm I was thinking about that too. I’ve seen some solitaire cathedrals that looked low and smushed to me by Tianyu but don’t know the dimensions. Do you have a profile shot of the rings you’re talking about?

This is an 8x10 emerald cut that has a height of 7.8 mm and I would say it is about medium height. I can still get gloves over it but I if it was any higher, I would be knocking it all over the place. The shape of the prongs allows it to be dropped down a bit so maybe they can follow this outline and then make it double claw prongs. I worked with my jeweler to get the shape as low as I could go while still getting that flush band.
