Hello, to all: I am new to this forum and would like to tell you how informative the general comments and suggestions have been to me as I continue along my nerve-wrecking and educational endeavor to find a beautiful diamond for my fiance-to-be...I hope (lol). With that said, I sincerely welcome any advice and/or comments anyone has with respect to this diamond I intend on purchasing:

Shape: Princess
Carat Weight: 1.54
Clarity Grade: VS1
Color Grade: I
Flourescence: None
Table Percent: 70.3
Crown Angle: 31.4
Crown Height: 9.7
Pavillion Angle:
Pavillion Depth: 62.9
Girdle Thickness Field: Thin to Medium (2.1%)
Total Depth Percent: 74.3
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Good
Length: 7.03mm
Width: 6.07mm
Depth: 4.51

Thanks much!!

I am definitely not an expert, but I have been researching princess cuts ad nauseum (since that''s what I want as well!) Take my comments with a grain of salt, and I hope true PS experts will chime in as well.

Shape: Princess

Carat Weight: 1.54

Clarity Grade: VS1

Color Grade: I

Flourescence: None

Table Percent: 70.3

Crown Angle: 31.4 Seems low...I think ideal princess cuts are closer to 40?

Crown Height: 9.7 Seems really low as well.

Pavillion Angle:

Pavillion Depth: 62.9

Girdle Thickness Field: Thin to Medium (2.1%)

Total Depth Percent: 74.3

Polish: Very Good

Symmetry: Good

Length: 7.03mm

Width: 6.07mm

Depth: 4.51

The idealscope images seem to indicate a lot of light leakage. Look at this link for some discussion about good light return/idealscope images for princess cuts:

Your comment about the crown angle is incorrect.

Live long,

Hmmm....I think I am wrong too.

I know that going by the numbers for fancies is a little fruitless, but what are good crown numbers to go by when weeding out the duds? Also, doesn''t the idealscope image look more white than it should?

I don't know a lot about princess cuts, but this stone looks retangular to me (this is not really a problem persay, unless you want a square stone...). Also, the IS image isn't terrible, but compared to some of the other princess images I've seen here, it shows more light leakage than I would be comfortable with.
