Probably buying on Monday - please take a look

After looking over a gazillion diamonds and learning tons here on PS, I still feel like a big dummy.

Despite this, I am strongly considering purchasing the following diamond on Monday. I would super appreciate it if anyone would chime in and give his or her thoughts either good or bad. Thank you.

The diamond would be set in a platinum setting with two small side diamonds (.50 total weight) that are f/g and vs-2/si-1. My overall budget is at or near 15k. Can anyone see any reason why I should or should not pull the trigger on this one? Thanks!

wow that stone is HOT HOT HOT...the angles are SWEET as is table and depth combo.

I don''t see any red flags here, I even love the color and clarity combo...VERY NICE.

I still haven''t completely decided, but I am very strongly leaning towards pulling the trigger. I''ve been trying to find the same cut and same size in a F/si-1 instead of a G/si-2, but seeing how the diamond is eye clean I guess it won''t really matter. Most folks tell me there is very little difference in a G to an F.

Mara - I did indeed place it on hold with my credit card before I posted. I promised I would make a decision by Monday afternoon, and that is what I will do.

Lynn - Your ring is gorgeous! I went to the thread and enjoyed the pics and the posts.

Quit worrying! You found a WINNER! And regarding the color/clarity... well, my humble opinion here is never buy an F/SI1 when a(n eye-clean) G/SI2 is available!!!!

Seriously... why pay for something that you simply WILL NOT SEE!!! You are getting an awesome diamond... there's nothing to second-guess!!! It's a keeper, for sure!

For those who have asked about setting, I have already had a setting custom made. It is a platinum setting with two small side diamonds that are each f/g in color and vs-2/si-1 in clarity.

Thank you all for your assistance. I've decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on Monday. Assuming my local appraisor agrees with the ratings and that it is really eye clean, my search will be complete at last.

Most importantly, I feel as though I've made a good choice. Thanks again for everyone's help and I will keep everyone up to date with how things turn out when the diamond comes in.
