Now setting shopping is my favorite!
A few key questions,
Does your wife prefer a minimal sleek look?
More vintage?
More designer like tiffany or Cartier?
Halos or floral?
Does she key into small details?
Are you still looking for a ready to go set?

What re the ideal setting for a Firey Princess cut?

Not sure I understand the question?

I think you’re asking for the ideal proportions of a “fiery princess cut”?

EDIT: I guess you were asking about settings, lol - sorry! I’ll leave the info below anyway ... haha I’m so stupid sometimes arrrrrgh

If that is your question, I found some info on princess cut, but the proportions are much more variable than for round brilliant cut ...

The first link below indicates that smaller tables and greater depths create the most fire and brilliance.

https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.jewelry-secrets.com/Blog/princess-cut-diamond-ideal-proportions/?amp

I hope that helps a bit!

The corners should be protected with V prongs in whatever setting you go with.

V-prongs are important because the corners of Princess cuts are fragile and can break. V-prongs protect the corners, which not changing the shape of the stone.

Examples of V-prongs.

This Thread delivers. I actually was asking for the ideal proportions for a Princess Cut stone.

Ok smoothly or not so smoothly who know checked with the Wife and she still likes Princess cuts. We were going through all the different cuts i was showing her how i helped my son and she said she liked the Princess cut the best. She actually stated she didn't like the arrow patterns of the rounds.

So wondering if you guys could help me find a good Princess i have been looking and i think I'm stuck probably have viewed the same stones a lot of times. I don't know if its my budget but i click off a lot of stone because inclusions on the table.
My parameters:

8K budget, will also be purchasing a erring setting and wedding ring not included in this budget.

Color H-F
Clarity: SI1- VS2
Cut : Ideal to Excellent would be nice
Carat 1.2-1.5
Fluro: faint to none

Jamesallen have a lot in my range but all the ones i look at have inclusions on the table
Whiteflash has a good prices 1.2 for 5400 , but says newly listed and no GIA report
BrianGavin only see listing for virtual stones without reports.
also checked Yardev and Bluenile

I would go with the WF ACA Princess. Paying by wire brings it in right at your budget, and you get the advantage of being able to upgrade in the future with them if you so choose.

Just found the WF on you were referencing... that's an I... I don't know if that would show too much warmth.

There is also this one: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-3907550.htm

What do you think of the 1.2 I just posted a pic of ?

Thanks. Don’t need a upgrade policy. Took this long for an upgrade it will be another 20 years before another one

That’s really nice no recommendation. Closer to 1.5? Doesn’t have to be trueACA. I understand their excellent choices are quite good

I like the one you posted too. Have you said what color her current stone is?

I really like the "I" you posted but F down to I is a big drop. The stone you picked looks like it will be very bright (with respect to aset/idealscope).
Are you sure she can handle going that low? Ask WF for a regular photo of the "I" stone. Maybe pick out an H and ask for a photo of both of them
side by side.

Okay IF you still are up to looking into an I colour grade, though as advised above you might want to strongly consider your comfort level, I did come across this:

https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut/1.50-carat-i-color-vs2-clarity-sku-4836360

It has an AGS report, and an ASET which looks great (it comes with the report). Light performance should be good, but again the colour grade may not be what you want..

Thanks so much. I altered your search parameters on enchanted diamonds a little. To 1.4-1.53ct. furthers refined color E-G.
And have like 4-5 in my price range they have ED. 100percent master cuts. But the ASET I think show a lot of light leakage. Can you please take a look and see if you would recommend any of those

Just FYI the 100% "score" on ED is completely meaningless. It's just their opinion, and often doesn't match with how good the stone actually is. I don't know princess cuts well so I'm not able to commenr on your options, but ignore the "cut score" numbers entirely.

So to be honest the ASETs are NOT fantastic. I am not an expert but having looked at some guides and comparing to the ASETS of the Whiteflash ones, and even the AGS ideal JA one, I would say too much leakage.

But out of the ones from ED the two G VS ones were more promising:

https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamo...ss&wire_price_max=9280#diamond=S151-514682507

https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamo...ss&wire_price_max=9280#diamond=S151-831767218

But, I can't say I am impressed. So far my favourite is the WF :

https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-di...71442.htm?utm_source=rarecarat&utm_medium=cpc

But it is not the right colour grade.

I will take another look though.

Honestly I am struggling! It is tricky to find one with good ASET and the right price and colour grade.
Perhaps you could ask the vendor Yadav for an ASET for this one, it seems promising:

https://www.yadavjewelry.com/diamond/princess-diamond-1.51-carat-f-vs2-yd4682996

Personally I would contact IDJ, as your son did, as it may be a more efficient and fruitful process. You could give him your requirements and see what he has to offer? If he has access to AGS graded princess cuts then it may be easier still to determine light performance.

Just like I said to the other poster. Finding something in budget that performs well is hard. This is great diamond. Please don't miss it because you are working on the setting.

1) Give ID jewelry in NYC a call and see if they can call (order) this diamond for you. Then you can look at their options which include a lot of great makers. Many many makers don't sell "sets". You can pick from any ering and wedding band. Most folks don't go for the matched set.

I like this ering: https://www.gabrielny.com/engagement-ring/er11299w44jj
This is the matching band: https://www.gabrielny.com/product/wb11299w44jj

2) You can have a custom set made by David Klass in LA. You buy the diamond and mail to him or ED could ship it directly to him. His prices are really good, but it requires that you know what style ring she wants.

What does your wife's current set look like? What does she like and not like about it? Does she ever wear just the wedding band? Does she want to keep her wedding band and this new ering should match? Does she want a solitaire, halo, side stones?
