Hi all. So I'm working on a princess themed proposal and here's what I have so far:
I'm planning take her here. I was thinking the Louis XIV suite. Between the first picture and the ones inside, I think it looks kind of princessy. I was hoping to make it a little more princessy by adding a tiara like this or this.

I have a few questions to start with though. First, do any of you know of any princessy themed fantasy suites (could be specific princesses like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty) within 3 or 4 hours of Ohio (maybe as far south at Gatlinburg)? Second, can you think of any other ways to princess-up the experience besides the tiara? When during the stay should I propose? At the beginning and then we have the whole stay to celebrate it? Or later on after she has already gotten to enjoy some/all of it? Thanks for your help!

What about instead of a princess themed room, spending the night in a castle? http://www.thecastlepost.com/default.asp or http://www.ravenwoodcastle.com/index.htm

I had considered this, but I wasn't terribly impressed by Ravenwood Castle and thought that the Hideaway Inn would give a more princessy feel. Do you think the castle would be the way to go?

I wasn't too impressed with Ravenwood either. Tripadvisor doesn't have the best reviews about Castlepost. I also found http://www.belameresuites.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=95&Itemid=31 which might work out good. Where in Ohio are you located?

You also mentioned princess accessories. What about a tiara that she could possibly wear for the wedding. http://tiaratown.com/ has a large selection. You could also get her a scepter and make some comment how you'd like to be her knight in shining armor and for her to "knight" you. As you got down on knee, you could pull the ring from your pocket.

We are in Columbus, but my parents are from Toledo and her parents are from Cincinnati, so it would be nothing to make a stop over on a long drive if it's worth it.

I think those ideas are super cute, I love them.

When are you planning on proposing?

I found a few more places you might consider.

http://www.buhlmansion.com/About-Buhl-Mansion.htm

http://www.tara-inn.com/

Both have packages.

What are some things you would like to do? Is this going to be just overnight, a weekend, or longer? You asked about when to propose. I'd suggest at the beginning so she can relax and enjoy the rest of the time. If you go to some romantic place, she'll probably have an idea you'll propose and will be waiting/anxious. If you propose at the beginning, you'll both be able to relax.

I'm planning for the end of March. I hadn't really thought about other stuff to do. It is just going to be an overnight kind of thing. I had been thinking I would do it fairly early on.
