What is the ideal height and angles for the crown and pavilion. I have read that an ideal combo of both will be more brilliant than if the symmetry/polish is EX/EX. I have found a diamond but without looking at it and having it appraised I will not know these numbers.
My diamond is

.71ct
5.04x4.99x3.58
71.7 depth
70 table
EX/EX symmetry/polish
M-D Girdle (what does the D stand for? Som companies just have it as M or Med)
0 culet
0 fluorescence

My question is, what would be the ideal crown and pavilion numbers for brilliance. so that i can compare it to the actual numbers when i have it appraised. thank you for help

You can look at the parameters on my AGA website, but many people will warn you that numbers alone do not give you the visual result you seek necessarily. I somewhat agree that numbers alone do not do the job, but they do eliminate many poorly cut diamonds that happen to be nicely brilliant, but have other meaningful detriments to quality present. You need crown height percentage to make a more complete numeric judgement of your stone.
