Hi guys and gals. I just wanted your take on if a platinum band that has 10 small round cut stones (5 along each side) with a 1K Princess Cut Center Stone would look nice. I was looking at a Scott Kay Ring but it had a round cut as the center stone instead of the princess cut. I was thinking of putting a princess cut on it instead. The guy at the store told me that the contrast would be nice between round diamonds and the princess cut but what do the ring fans out there think? Here''s a link to a similar looking ring:

First ring on the upper left. M1062RDPP.

Thanks

If you are the wearer, go for what you like. If you''re purchasing it for someone else, make sure that person will like it as much as you do.

Good luck!

KrWz,

There was a thread not too long ago about this. I wish I knew how to add links, anyhow, if you do a search on mixing shapes you should find the thread.

Thanks for the heads up. I did a search for Mixing Shapes and found it.

Well the e-ring is for my girlfriend. We''ve looked at different rings together so I figured I would have an idea of what she would like. Once i got to shopping around on my own it just felt like things were 100 times tougher hehe. I took a look at a loose princess cut diakond at the store and the band with the round side stones (which had a round CZ on it) and tried to imagine what it would look like with the princess cut set on the band. I figured it would look nice and that the contrast of stones would be nice as well. I even thought that if I were to ever wear a ring that this would be a ring i''d wear hehe. I also figured that it would be a ring that i''d be seeing everyday on her finger and that it could be something that I could look at and think ''nice'' and be proud of it. Well this rin was at Bailey Banks & Biddle and the people helping me in the store said it would look very nice although I don''t know if they''re being honest or if they''re just trying to make a sale by telling me what they think I want to hear.

In conversation yesterday w/ my gf she said that I could get her any ring... except I think a Marquisse cut....and she would love it because its from me. That''s reassuring but I still have concerns because I really want her to be happy.

I think that would look LOVELY!! I wear a channel set round band with an asscher solitaire, I don''t think there is a thing wrong with mixing shapes.

Thanks for the feedback!

That sounds lovely. Wil you contine the mixing theme into the wedding band?

There is a matching wedding band to go with the e-ring which I believe is sold as is. It consists of a series of round cut smaller diamonds. I think they''re called bagets. I''ll most likely stick with the matching wedding band without any modification.

Looks like i won''t be mixing stones after all. The side stones are princess cut and the center stone will be a princess cut as well. Here is the ring I purchased. The center stone will be a princess, not the round thats on the picture. Even in the picture though, the round with the princess sides look nice.
