Hi all,

Looking to purchase a diamond for an engagement ring. I''ve done plenty of research, yet am still a little confused on the whole ''ideal'' princess cut thing. I am looking at around .7 ct, trying to spend around $2200. How does this look...

Basically just not sure what to look for in depth vs. table.

Thanks,
Jason

Will need an ASET image for a princess to determine the cut performance.

Hi Jason

There are various proportion configurations which can result in a well cut Princess, the best way is to work with vendors who have in house Princess which are hand selected for beauty and performance, these are often AGS0 or AGS1 graded or certain GIA graded ( GIA does not grade Princess for cut at this time).

The diamond in question might be ok but detailed images are needed and an ASET image, the link below explains ASET and its use.

Really the numbers with these shapes just give you a chalk outline of the stone, that is why images are essential. Also if you prefer colourless and VVS clarity you could drop these a bit and still have a very clean and white diamond, but it is a personal choice if that is what you prefer then disregard that advice!

The vendors below sell well cut Princess for you to check out
