Wondering if anyone could give pricing guidance on this listing...

https://loupetroop.com/listings/rings/engagement-ring-and-wedding-band-1-dot-60-total-carat-weight

I took a "best guess" at what to price it at based off 1) what was originally paid, 2) what the appraisal came back as and 3) some attempts at comparative listings.

I'd be open to feedback on whether this is appropriately priced. I don't need the money immediately so I'm willing to wait for the right buyer. But.. I also would eventually like to sell it.

Thanks in advance!

I hesitate to post this.
If you are not looking for honest truth...then do not read the following...

Is there a GIA or AGS report for the stone? I'm going off of what I know of values of used jewelry...I'm on ebay and other sites a lot.

Appraisal value is worthless. Here is a similar GIA graded stone. $4k Stones usually sell for 30-40% off so at 35% off your stone (if GIA graded) would be
worth about $3600 used.

I say about $400 for wedding band, $600 for the ering. Total $1k.

$3600 + $1k = $4600 (and that would be a starting point) If your stone is not GIA/AGS graded then it is worth less. Now this is just my opinion from what
I see looking at used jewelry/stones and what they sell for and you know what they say about opinions...

Edit...I would not include the men's wedding ring

Thanks, tyty333. I appreciate the help. I really have no idea of what a fair price is so your honesty is greatly valued.

I'll possibly look into getting it GIA/AGS graded.

Thanks again!

GIA grading on a 1.03 is going to cost you $105. Shipping to and from the lab will be about $50 per direction. Figure about $100 for the pull and reset. That’s $300 out of pocket.

You may or may not want to do this, but I would probably recommend it if you’re going to sell directly. Buyers with sense aren’t going to believe your grading and a H/VS2 is worth quite a bit more than, say, a J/SI2. Play with the database and look for comps. It’s a double edge sword. Buyers with sense are going to downgrade your grading because of the source and a GIA document will ‘prove’ what you have. If it’s right, you’ll get your $300 back and then some. On the other hand, they may be right, and paying to get it papered as a lower grade may just be adding insult to injury.
