After studying and shopping for a few weeks I ended up putting this Princess cut on layaway. I purchased it at a big retail store so I''m nervous to hear if this was a decent deal or if I should find something better before my 30 day refund expires.

Certificate: GIA
Shape: Princess
Carat: 0.84
Color: G
Clarity: VS1
Measurements: 5.01x5.11
Price: US $3,770

I don''t have the other details on hand at the moment, but the depth was somthing around 72%. Using the search tool on this site has me worried as it shows similar stones from $2858-$3861.

I''m willing to pay a slight premium to pickup something at a store nearby rather than online, but if this is very overpriced I can keep shopping.

Thanks!

is to compare prices to see if you are getting a fair deal. since you have done that already, you are going to have to decide what kind of premium you are comfortable paying. there is almost no way to know whether or not your stone is comparable to those priced between $2800-3800 without getting more information (on both). it could be that your stone is far superior to those offered in that price range and it could just as easily be that the $2800 stone is a real beauty and you overpaid by about $900. obviously you''ve seen this stone and liked it enough to buy it, which should be somewhat comforting but it''s normal to have a bit of buyers remorse. if you feel that this is something that will be bugging you, you might want to look into getting more information in order to accurately compare your purchase. best of luck in your decision!!

Dear Nervous

I''d go back to the store, and find out the rest of the details of the report....Even a photostatic copy would help

Total depth in mm. Total depth in percentage

Polish and Symmetry grading.

Anything written in the comments?

Fluoresence

It''s not on the GIA report, but requesting a Sarin report is sensible and reasonable for you to have.

If the store can''t supply this, or won''t - I ''d suggest finding someone who will supply such information as it is an important part of your purchase consideration and decision.

What you should get is the crown angle, crown height percentage, pavilion depth, GIrdle MEASUREMENTS.
