Pricescope Was Found To Be Worthy Of Study!

We have been found to be worthy of study! I don't know whether anyone ever posted about this before, but I never knew about this study until I read it today, so I certainly never saw anything about it posted on Pricescope!

Did anyone else here know about the student (Lana Swartz) who wrote this and her group? Andrey, did you? What do you think of her assessment of Pricescope? I found it interesting. I have to admit that I kept looking to see whether she was going to quote me saying something ineffably wise or witty, but alas, she did not! Maybe in her next installment.

Very interesting article. Anyone want to fess up writing it? Whomever it is certainly has been here a while and reading quite a bit. I liked the article. I personally stayed out of the political section last time around.

I really enjoyed that article, thanks for sharing! I agree with pretty much everything she said, as far as what the community does and its general spirit and values.

I was not aware of the ATW forum or its history. I don't see it in the Forum listing at this time so I assume it's no longer available.

Meanwhile, I love being a 'diamond geek'. Great moniker!

I was thinking the same thing.

Good article, I think her theories about the sense of community elsewhere in the forum being the main reason for maintaining civility in political debates, and that that new posters with nothing other than political motivation to post were a potential cause of things getting out of hand were spot on.

Her description of PS is pretty good. Feels weird to be studied like a bug on a pin. I didn't join till after the election but have gathered it was a passionate time & I'm just as glad we can't argue politics. Nobody changes opinions anyway; it's lots of yabbity-yabbity, then I get crazy, throw all my stuff in the air, & go downstairs for a pint of ice cream.

I'd rather talk about -- and gawp at -- gems than icky ole politicians any day!

Interesting article. I like that she acknowledged the strong supportive and educational environment here. I'm thrilled to be a part of PS - thank you for all I've learned in my short participation.

I agree, Thing2! I didn't often post there because others always said what I was thinking way better than I could have. I loved reading though! I am dying to talk politics right now though. These guys are definitely giving us a lot to talk about...if only...

It looks like honest research to me, so I doubt that Lana S. was posting at the time she was reading; her posting would have influenced (and biased) the research, of course. Naturally she could have returned here to post since then, but she didn't particularly strike me as a gem lover. Of course it's hard to know!

IMO...he has a better chance of beating Romney than Newt. Romney is not a good debater,pluse Obama will have all the backing from the liberal media like NBC,MSNBC,CNN,NYT,etc...
