You can do a search in that range yourself and see the insane amounts of price variation. In fact, here's two that vary by $400,000 and appear to be the same stone.

Actually it might make more sense to do a search on a more common size and see basically the same thing--there are diamonds selling well above and well below Rap and it's not all because vendors hike up their prices.
