Average prices for 1.0-1.49ct rounds are steady except slight (about 1%) increase for VVS2 and VS1 for F, G, and H colors

For 1.5-1.99ct prices are going up a bit faster, especially for higher colors and clarity

Am I right in assuming these trends are for rounds and not fancies (except for the first chart where it says princess cut stones)? I''m just curious (obviously) about fancies in the 3+ carat range and the trends in prices.

Are these charts based on retail in stores, retail on internet. cost of certed good to resellers?


Price increases to consumers may not apply in the wholesaler reseller pricing. While generally if the wholesale cost goes up, consumer cost does too, but not always.

There are time when wholesale costs are increased, but prices to the public can be held down, due to competition.

Are these based on completed actual sales or asking prices....??

If these are based on Rap price listings, they might not reflect the prices offered on the net or in stores.

These stats are based on the diamonds listed in the web. Since the Interent vendors simply add a certain % to the wholesale asking price, these trends apply to both wholesale and e-tail prices.
