Are there price premiums for diamond cuts that can be a perfect square like asscher and princess?
So in other words, will price per carat be higher for a perfect square than an equal stone that's measurements do not measure out as a perfect square?

There are many other characteristics of a diamond that will determine the final price. A perfect square along with overall excellent cutting and light performance certainly might command a higher price. But a poorly cut stone that happens to be square certainly won't carry a premium for just being square. That is an interesting question, but I would recommend searching for the best cut stones overall, and you may find that many of the best asschers and ideal princess cuts will be close to square.

Nice response above. If you are willing to pay a premium for very precise cutting, then the squareness of a particular stone combined with other characteristics of precision cut, will be offered as part of any "premium" pricing of cut quality. If you don't stress about exactness, then the issue of premium for cut sort of dissolves. While cut always remains an important element of pricing, it is more of a factor in the sale when a customer wants certain attributes and far less important when the client is less exacting in what will suits their budget or their own taste in cut appearance.

Thank you diamondseeker and oldminer :)

Not sure if you would know the answer to this but is there a market that will only buy a perfect square? I think I read a post a while ago about someone being very particular that measurement have to be exactly square so I'm wondering if that is something commonly looked for.

Also are all branded Royal Asscher measurements perfectly square?
