I know Mark is a very busy man so I was hoping the PS community can help me get an idea of this without me having to bother him.

My significant other and I have been browsing rings in person and online, though I am letting him make the final decision. He has excellent taste, mainly because he knows mine.

Well, he decided he likes round brilliants and thinks that solitaires look best on my finger. He likes six prong and he likes the thickness of the band to be 2-2.5mm or so. And he first noticed (and I completely agree) that the band tapering in to be skinnier near the head is the prettiest on me. He likes the prongs to be a little rounded as compared to the very angular, straight like a V kind you see on many solitaires. I like white gold or maybe platinum, and I really love when there are little pave diamonds on the prongs. Well, we just saw this gorgeous MWM torchiere online the other night and were blown away

I thought it would be too expensive (I don''t even know his budget; I just assume custom work by this talented of a jeweler is). He said that it wouldn''t matter if it was "the one" though he didn''t say it was exactly either.

Okay, so about pricing--I don''t want him to feel like he has to spend so much on me necessarily. But I have a hard time knowing what this setting would cost. I have seen others by him around $2k, but this particular one has six small diamonds, too. But the band is 18k yellow gold on his site. Could he make it with 18k white or would he prefer to do platinum?

Any ideas on the price of this setting if making it for, say, a 1.25ct round or so? I''d prefer the band part to be narrower, like the Sunburst petite rather than the original. So any guess on how much it would be for 18k white gold? Or in platinum?

Thanks and sorry this is so long!

Honey, the best way to get a price qoute is to contact Mark. Trust me, he''ll know.

ditto.

ball park guess would be $1500-$2500...but it''s really best to call hiim for the exact amount. metal prices have increased so it''s possible a price someone paid 6 months ago is out of date and the setting is more...

Thank you both. I just didn''t want to bother him. Also, we''re just looking right now. I''m not sure when my significant other may choose to buy. But I''ll let him know that I can''t even ballpark it and that only Mark will know.

Please don''t think of it as bothering him!! You are considering giving him thousands of dollars! He should be happy to help you if he wants your business. If he considered it a bother, I wouldn''t want to work with him.
