Preventing Chips and Scratches?

I am just terrified that I will chip or scratch my diamond. The ring/diamond are insured against chips but I am still pretty concerned. I am a big klutz.

What can I do to prevent a chip or scratch? I am worried something normal will happen (like hitting your hand on a mug or mirror or dorr) and BOOM! there goes my beautiful diamond.

Maybe I am just being neutrotic!

It''s very normal to be so concerned!! After all, you are sporting a decent amount of cash on your hand. Besides your legs, hands are used so much everyday, so it''s bound to happen once in awhile ( more for some, less for others) that you will bang it. Don''t fret. The best thing to do, IMO, is to keep it clean, not wear it while doing chores that dirty/wear your hands, and really keep a watch on it while you are wearing it.

How high does your diamond sit in the setting? I am going to be moving mine down soon, as I''ve noticed that I bang mine around too much. It simply sits too high. Otherwise, I''m very careful with it.
