Just thought I''d share this photo.

Some small cut sapphire we just got back from the cutter. The sizes in the picture range from 5.5 x 3.5mm down to just 1.5mm in various shapes.

as requested a closeup of a couple stones among the larger of this new parcel. Please excuse the quality as we have not yet mastered the art of photographing cut gems. We are reasonably happy with our photos of rough stone but if anyone has some advice on getting better photos of cut gems we would be very glad to hear it. We need to work out how to photograph them so they look as good as they do in real life.

cheers

Hello Andrew,

The sapphires look very nice from the pictures. Are they heated or unenhaced?

Another Picture, gee its frustrating when you cant get the camera to show how good it looks in real life!

This bigger lot has basic heat treatment only. The two individuals are fully natural.

We have only just started grading up this new lot of stone so have not priced any of these yet. I would rather not comment publicly on our own pricing in this forum, but in general, Australian sapphire of this size (4mm) would typically sell for less than $100 AU per carat - as you would know prices go up or down depending on size, colour and quality. We are starting to see a price premium for unheated of about 20% over heated.
