I''m sorry, but this is ridiculous. People need to put their big-boy pants on and start acting like adults. There is no excuse for that, whatsoever.

Moon: I thought the same thing too! I was thinking ''Man, Bush is more of a dodger than I thought!''
I couldn''t believe the guy was able to throw both shoes. That was crazy.
Cut me some slack! I''m OLD, remember???Date: 12/14/2008 11:05:57 PM

Karen, it is NOT Thursday!
purr, I was thinking the same thing. But I heard someone talking about this very thing last night on TV, and though I came in on it and didn't catch the whole statement, the gist of it was that the room and all in it were very secure. I believe they mentioned checking for bombs prior. But I agree, if I were SS, I think I'd have responded just a wee bit quicker. I mean, this IS the president and all...Date: 12/15/2008 8:49:36 AM

Does anyone still think the Secret Service are doing their job well?
I admit I giggled in surprise as Bush dodged like a pro, but still...this is a serious breach of security.
It's not like that was a large crowd or a big room to watch. It's not like that guy was sitting their with both shoes in his lap. He had time to take off not one, but two shoes, and lob not one, but two shoes in the air before the Secret Service had him on the floor.
I'm seriously angered that they were that lax. What if those had been shoe BOMBS?
I realize they're human and we all can make mistakes, but it seems like their reactions were too slow for pros. I think someone needs to have a new career after that breach.
Obama hasn't a prayer at this rate

I have heard something similar. But MAN does Bush have great reflexes! Not so impressed with social security's response either, regardless of whether the room was already 'secure' or not.

Calling him a dog and throwing his shoes are both extreme insults in Arab culture, I hear...I''m not sure why, but they are.....
I agree, Bush has some good reflexes!
