Hi all!
35.gif

I''ve only posted on PS once. Lately, I''ve been spending a lot of time browsing the forums, and noticed the kinship many of you have developed. So, I thought I''d join in on the fun and become more active.

So, a lil about myself...

I''m a medical student, which occupies most of my time. I''m currently taking a break to regain my sanity and have spent a lot of my free time on PS.

BF and I talk a lot about getting engaged, which is how I ended up on the site. He''s in the process of saving money, but I''ve been given the green light to start looking at what I want.

So, back to my original question...
I love the look of pave, and love many of your rings! I''m leaning towards a 1 - 1.5 c cushion with a halo and pave band in platinum. Something like the Harry ring seen in so many ads. (BTW, absolutely love mrssalvo''s ring!)

Anyhow, anyone have issues with diamonds falling out or constantly replacing them? I''m worried that ending up in the medical field and being a bit of klutz (sp?) that I need a very sturdy ring.

Hi Mel and welcome...

there are a few gals here in the medical field with pave rings and hopefully they will chime in. i do believe most opt not to wear the rings while at work though. gingerbcookie has a 3-sided pave set, both e-ring and wedding band and is a doctor and hopefully she''ll chime in.

pave is one of those tricky things where I really do believe you get what you pay for. there are differences in pave rings that are handmade vs. cast. some designers have better reputations for lack of problems there other. Ritani for example is one we never hear about stones coming out of. it is the nature of pave though that their could be an occasional lost stone and you just have to decide if it''s worth the risk or possible trouble to have to get it fixed if/when one does come out.

thanks for the comment on my ring too. only 2 more weeks until it should be complete and i''m very excited!!

Sorry had some issues posting and accidently posted twice!

You should have what you really love for your ER and WB. For work, you could always choose a plain band, or a 5 stone band, something like that. I don''t think very many ERs are "practical". Maybe a bezel setting, but that''s not what you want. Good luck!

Many people in the medical field wear pave, but I would make two suggestions. I would suggest getting a stone that is set low to prevent knocking and also getting well-made possibly designer pave that tends to hold up and lose stones less frequently. You might want to also consider leaving your rings at home when you are at work.

As others have mentioned Ritani is a great idea! Their pave is very well-made and sturdy and their stones can be set low as well.
