I have started the veil search, and I am interested in seeing pics of what everyone else chose. Most of the online pics only show the veil being worn one way (usually on top of the head) so it is hard to see all of the different options. I think I want to wear mine more toward the back of my head. Right now I am leaning towards a center gathered veil like this:

and I want it to reach to my natural waist, when worn on the back of my head. My dress is Sophia Tolli''s Sarah:

Mine was a traditional cathedral-length mantilla in silk tulle (heavy) that I wore with 1/3 folded over, anchored with a hair flower. I removed the veil and just wore the flower for the reception.

This is my veil. It''s 2-tiered, and I''m going to wear it at the back of my head (on top of the hairdo, not coming out from under an updo). It won''t have the fullness of the one in the picture because of the way I''ll wear it. I''m not going to wear the top tier as a blusher. Sorry, I don''t have any good pics of myself in it, but you get the idea!
 
I LOVED my veil! It as a Toni Federici (I think I spelled that right) and it rocked.

I''m not sure what type of veil it is, it is pretty funky. You can''t really see it here, but there was a layer of French netting in the back, too, which really made the look.

I saved your veil when you first bought it!! I loved it so much! Unfortunately my something borrowed/given to me is my veil still pretty but not as stunning as yours!

i wish you could see it more up close but here is mine, its almost floor length and has beading that matches the dress ( i dont know how we got so lucky to find such a good match!)

Hven, I adore your veil! If Feb. I am going to the shop my dress came from to see a lady who makes custom veils for pretty affordable prices, and I plan on taking a picture of your veil with me, if you don''t mind! I love the shape of it in the back!
 
I had a very simple 1-tier chapel length veil...I had this image in my head of it blowing in the wind (pictured below).

What I didn''t realize was that the nice ocean breeze would be at my back throughout the entire ceremony, thus blowing the veil toward D and the groomsmen the entire time. I had to tuck it under my arm to keep it under control. I do wish I''d done something a tad shorter.

Haven I copied you! I got the exact veil with added swarovski crystals all over the french netting, and another tier. I bought it in kleinfeld, and it comes in febuary. I totally understand why you reconsidered.
 
Beautiful veils everyone! Everyone''s really fits the dress and style of the individual wedding. Thanks also for the link to etsy--I had been looking all over the web but hadn''t thought of looking there.

I''m totally willing to still send you the veil--do you still have my email???? My laptop crashed and I lost all my documents that weren''t backed up to my external hardrive.

I feel so badly about this! I even did some searches for threads with "Haven" in them to see if you were trying to find me! Can you return the veil from Kleinfeld? I feel awful.
 
Hi ladies! I graduated from BIW back in Sept and haven''t been posting much, but I''ve definitely been lurking. I loved my veil and basically designed it myself after not finding exactly what I wanted anywhere. I ordered it from Veils by Roxanne, and Roxanne was great to work with. I ended up ordering a fingertip length ungathered mantilla shape veil with crystal beading scattered near the edges. However, when I got it I wasn''t quite happy with how it fell over my head, so I took it off the comb, gathered it a bit, and reattached it. And then I did it over again. And again. And probably a 3rd or 4th time until I was happy with it.

I loved how sheer it was.

I don''t seem to have a photo that shows off the whole effect of it, so instead I''ll give you every angle.

oh thank you so much im really close to doing it but I dont know what percent to put for the stretch and skew in horizontal and vertical. MY photos are huge ! what would you recommend? for some reason im messing it up.

i loved your veil too haven! so much that i totally ripped off the design for my DIY veil for the reception
