What''s your favourite registry item, ladies? The thing you''re most excited to get?

We have two. One is this teapot by Bodum, which my cousin just sent us (YAY!) And the other...

The other is this pitcher by Alessi. I don''t know why, but I just love this pitcher so much. I think it is such an elegant object. And my good pal who is coming to the local party tomorrow night just told me she got it for us!

It''s funny that our two favourites went first. Good funny.

I had a surprising number of favorites, so I''ll post a few of them...

this was our FIRST wedding gift! The footed bowl to go with my C&B Eva Ziesel everyday dishes.

And this $15 oil can is used almost daily! I adore it! It holds olive oil and dispenses so precisely and perfectly!

And my personal favoritest first thing on the registry scary and dangerous Mikasa vase. It''s so pretty when the sun hits it!

CDT we have a registry with Alessi, but they sure didn''t make it easy! They really have to get it together and put things online.

heh heh... yeah, but when it''s all put together it looks really cool and nobody says "oh, is that a vacuum?" Great for picking up spilled cat food in a hurry.

OMG LMAO I never thought of it that way until you mentioned it. The picture does indeed make it look that way... I think I''m off for a date with the hand vac!

Indie - we registered for those at Bed Bath & Beyond. I actually did most of our registering online...soooooooooo much easier that way.

Sum - I love the look of the hand vac! Very nice...looks modern....i want one now

I love that footed bowl sumbride!

My favorite, I guess is the candlesticks I registered for. I registered for both pairs. I love doing clusters of different candlesticks as centerpieces so I thought these were very versatile. I REALLY wanted a different set from Crate and Barrel, but they are really fragile and Hally would be able to break them with a sneeze.

It''s a mere $40 at BB&B and comes in several colors! Add it to your registry!! I want to get a 2nd one for upstairs, but I see they come in a 2 pack for $60 at Costco, so maybe I should tell myself I ALSO need one for the basement! One on each floor!!!

You definitely need one on each floor, Summer. no question about it.

Candlesticks are tricky because endlessly tempting. We already have two pairs, and I think we registered for something like 3 more pairs, and then my mom told me that the brass pair she received as a wedding gift from her mother when she married (her mother was very, very poor) would now come to me - which makes me so happy! So we're going to be stacked in the candlestick department.

My favorite registry items before Macys discontinued them were the patterned plates in this picture:
http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=296990&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results

I''m still registered for the other great colors, but the designs were going to spice up a nicely laid out table for me. And now I have to rummage around in every clearance section of every Macys store around me. :)

But I must admit, they''re still my favorite. Anytime someone asks me what they should get me I say, "Dishes! I need more dishes!"

That looks dirty! Do you have to wear a French Maid outfit to use it?
