We are in the process of planning and sending out invites for our post-DW reception. We got married in April and the reception will be in August and hosted by our parents. Not sure what you mean by request line, but the wording of the inviation will say something like "the couple sealed their vows in St. Croix and now we (the parents) invite you to a post wedding reception in their honor."
Should it say, "bride and groom invite you to a cocktail party in celebration of our marriage...blah blah blah"? I''d love to see what other''s have done.
I want to mention that at the time of the party, we''ll have already been married, however, we''re sending them out pretty soon (and won''t be married at the time they actually recieve the invite)...so wording choice is key.
sk8terjen might be able to provide some insight because I think she had (or is having) a post wedding reception as well. The wording is kinda tricky, but definitely necessary to give detail about the event. My mom was concerned because she didn''t want people thinking we ran away and eloped (gotta love Mom!).
Have you tried the "Verse It" website? They have sample wording for various scenarios. That should give you a start.
