We have a 5 month old puppy at home who caught pneumonia. Poor thing hasn''t been doing much besides coughing and sleeping. On the up side, she''s got her appetite back. Any advice in the mean time (besides giving her the full dose of antibiotics and keeping her warm)?

Here she is, trying to sleep off her icky illness.

Lots and lots of get well *dust* for your pooch parrot tulips!

*keep us updated on her condition

LOTS of dust going her way, poor baby.....Just give her plenty of TLC, make sure she eats and is drinking plenty, keep her warm and dry, so just outside for necessities at potty time. Lots of cuddles and love too and just keep her company, thats great medicine.

Aww, poor baby. She looks absolutely exhausted in that pic.

I think she needs a lot more cuddles from you, absolutely

Poor puppy! Make sure she is eating and drinking plenty. Our vet said we could add chicken broth (made at home so no salt or anything added) to our cat''s food when she was sick. This warmed the food up a bit so it smelled stronger. It was also a good way to get some extra fluid into her.

(your puppy is sooooo cute)

I hope she feels better soon.

Thanks for all the get well wishes. The vet told us to put Izzy on a bland diet for a little bit, so she''s been getting boiled chicken and rice. I''ve been adding lots of water to the rice (almost more of a porridge texture) to make sure she''s getting some fluids in (she''s been inhaling the food - yay!).

We''ve also been fortunate with the weather. It''s mid 70''s, with no breeze and not a cloud in the sky, so I don''t feel the need to rush her in or bundle her up to take potty breaks.

. Pneumonia is miserable, it must only be worse when you don't understand that the nasty pills will make you better.

She sure is cute though
