Yah, I'm a senora! DH and I were married on April 23, 2009 in La Romana, DR. Despite some of the hiccups, the day was absolutely perfect! Our group of 27 enjoyed themselves, got along fabulously and no one got seriously ill. I, on the other hand, came back with a cold and sinus infection, but I'm positive that was due to not eating well and partying too hard; oh well it was so worth it! Words can't even begin to describe how thrilled I am to be married, but truthfully I'm a bit sad the wedding and all the excitment of planning a wedding is over. I wish I could do it again and again (with the same husband, of course). Ours was the first DW in our family and group of friends and it exceeded all mine and DH's expectations, and if we're to believe our guests this was the case for them as well. The icing on the cake was definitely the fact that my parents who weren't originally loving the idea of a DW couldn't stop raving about how beautiful, intimate and special our wedding was AND they continue to share this sentiment. Needless to say, DH and I are so thrilled that we had the kind of wedding we wanted and that it all worked out so well. Anyways, enough of my gushing...onto more important things...pictures!

The dress (Madelaine Gardner private line) and shoes (cheap flats from Spring). While I covet Meresal's fabulously sexy CL's, I wanted shoes that wouldn't make me taller than DH and would be comfortable enough to wear on cobblestone and dance the night away in. During a casual day shopping, I came across this satin pair with rhinestone embellishment that matched my dress perfectly.

Love the close up of the lace in this picture.

ETA: Sorry, that was big.

My something blue and engagement ring. My something blue is a larimar stone in 14k yg that I purchased in the DR. I love that it has special significance to the country we got married in. Unfortunately, the picture doesn't do the stone any justice; it's much more vibrant in person.

I know you are posting, but I had to say that these are BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I thought I recognized the church at Altos de Chavon! I was bummed I couldn''t get married there, but we are having our TTD session at Alton De Chavon in August after our wedding!

I can''t see your face, but your dress is gorgeus and it looks beautiful!

Here, we have my sister, me, DH and his BM back at the resort. I love how our photographer captured our reflections in this picture.

Our reception took place on a private deck overlooking the beach. Unfortunately, we don't have pro pictures of the reception, but I think you can still get a sense of how romantic and beautiful the setting was.

Entering our reception. Another hiccup - we wanted to be presented as Senor y Senora ____. Unfortunately, our DJ introduced us by our first names. No last names, not the "new bride and groom," NOTHING! Just our first names, really??????

We were already annoyed with him because he was late setting up for the cocktail hour and then didn''t have a microphone ready for our introduction.

Father-daughter dance. My veil is crooked in this picture, but I love that you can see the back of the dress. I had a French bustle, but with all the ruffles it's hard to see.

Okay, that's it. Thanks for looking!

Pochantas, I have been thinking about you and your wedding; I missed you! Love your pictures, congrats to the beautiful Senora y Senor!!

WannaBMrsH, thanks! St. Stanislaus church is even more stunning in person, isn''t it?! That totally sucks about not being able to get married there, but you''ll enjoy your TTD session at Altos de Chavon nonetheless. Where exactly will your session take place? I''m so excited for you! The DR is definitely an awesome place for DW''s and Altos de Chavon provides so many beautiful photo ops!

Luvthemstrawberries, thanks so much! It''s funny ''cause when I was originally looking for a dress I had my mind set on something much simpler, but then I saw this dress and immediately fell in love with it. As soon as I put it on, I knew it was the one.

Aww Skippy, you''re too sweet; thanks! I was hoping you''d see this thread and post. I''ve missed you too, friend! How''ve you been?
