Narrowed it down to these two.
Both are AGS 000, H, Si1, eye clean. I have seen both in person and they are both very nice looking and eye clean.
Little puzzled and would appreciate input on which one to go for and why
For comparison, I pulled up one diamond from WF: http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3033760.htm - much more expensive

Diamond 1
AGS000 2.013ct h/si1 – report at http://www.agslab.com/pdf_sync_reports/104068282006-PLDQR.PDF
HCA = 0.8 with excellent in all categories
Size = 8.18x8.21x4.94
Price = cheaper than the other
Pros : faces up bigger, cheaper, no stuff under table
Cons : two feathers present

Some pics - excuse the little snakish/whitish thing running across in pics 3 and 4 - it is a piece of hair that got in the way

Diamond 2
AGS 000 2.010ct H/Si1. – report at http://www.agslab.com/pdf_sync_reports/104054978004-PLDQR.PDF
HCA = 2.8 with very good in all categories
Size = 8.07x8.13x4.99
Price = 1500 more than Diamond 1
Pros: only twinning wisps, which are whitish and cannot be seen by naked eye
Cons : lots of twinning wisps under table, more expensive, does not face up as big, HCA below 2

They are both beautiful...I dont see any reason why not to pick diamond 1.

Of the two, I would prefer number one.

#1.

#1

I vote #1. Smaller table and great spread.

Overwhelming favor for diamond 1!
Thanks for the input.

Any concerns about anything in terms of diamond 1?
Feather inclusions okay? Can these worsen over time?

Totally fine and looks to be all around wonderful. H SI1, in my opinion, are the safest and best value.

If the feathers were a durability issue it'd be an i1.

I'd pull the trigger and not look back.

I can see that one feather really well in one of the pics. Did you try to locate it when you saw it just to be certain it is eyeclean once you know where it is? That stone overall is better, but I am just not fond of feathers as a primary inclusion in SI stones. However, as you can see, I am in the minority! Just wanted to give another point of view!

Thank you for your input DS.
I did see the stone in person and I was not able to see the feather with my eyes.
The feather and the issue of durability was my only concern with this stone.
I wanted to make sure I got the green light here before I pulled the trigger.

12 to 1 !!
Appreciate all the input.

Is there any more info needed about diamond 1 that will tell us more about its performance?
Will have a Sarin report soon.
Anything else? Helium? Megascope?

The light performance horse on that stone has been sufficiently beaten, I think.

The only question is whether the feather where the table meets the crown can be seen by the unaided human eye (the feather at 11 o'clock in the straight up photo). My feeling is that it is sufficiently hidden in the faceting and it has a shape and color that hides well with the virtual facets. You probably won't be able to see it unless you have really very good vision AND you know it exists AND you're looking hard for it. If the diamond is dirty, it becomes easier to see, but I think it'll still quite hard to see if at all.

It's a 2 ct diamond, meaning pretty big, and you can see things a little more critically in big diamonds.

You will only be able to tell if it's eye clean if you literally see the diamond in person. Not with a microscope. Not with a picture. In real life.

What does the gemologist say? Can s/he see the inclusion with the naked eye from about 8 inches away and from all normal viewing angles? If so, how easy is it to spot?

Is there a return policy? Can YOU possibly see the diamond before purchasing?

Edited: oops--forgot you'd seen it in person. if you couldn't detect that feather, then you're good. you have sufficient info to make a purchase. most everything else is superfluous at this point.

Thanks t for chiming in yet again.

Since I had already requested additional info, I will post it.
I got a Sarin report and it is attached.
Any comments on the Sarin? Does it change anything or reflect upon some hidden nuances?
I have no idea how to interpret it.
