About to look at these in person on Thursday in order to finalize the purchase of my gf''s ring. Just wanted to get some opinions:

They are both lovely cushions and you are in the fortunate position of being able to view them in person! I like the first one best but see what you think when you see them.

Thanks to these boards and Mark T over at ERD, I was able to learn about the 4 c''s, in particular as they relate to cushions. Hopefully I end up going with the right one.

I be;lieve the make, the cut quality, of the 1.09 might be better than the 1.06. The look of the 1.09 may be better too, because of this better cutting. Of course, looking at them in various lighting scenarios is best. Make sure you get away from pinpoint lights and spotlights often found in showrooms. Use natural daylight and compare. Cushions are nearly impossible to quantify by parameters, so looking at them is the only reliable way to be sure they have sufficient and even briilliancy and sparkle. Compare each to a well cut round diamond and to a well cut princess, too. Then you will know how they really look and compare to other diamonds....

That sounds fine, take your time and compare them carefully to others if possible also, and take them for a test drive away from the store lights to see how they look in plain daylight.
