So I have designed my ring and I think it will be quite unique looking which is both exciting and frustrating as it will be one of a kind (yay :appl: ) but despite all my countless hours of browsing imagesI have no idea what It will look like!
I thought perhaps if I would describe it you well versed PSers out there might post some pics are share links to a thread that gives me some idea? I put the puzzle pieces together based on all the pics and great advice given on this site.

I am unabashedly a fan of finger coverage and my finger size is a 6.5 so I'm wondering how big it will look on my finger? Just based off dimensions the jeweler says it is the size (with halo) and appears as a 6 carat but I have no reference for this on a size 6.5?
Please see info below and my thanks in advance for anybody that can help! I have seen the actual diamond in person and both my SO and I fell in love with it! Larger than average table which makes the spread quite large and gorgeous facet & pin fine "rainbow sparkle" as I like to call it

Oh, did I mention the ring is sitting in the house (I know where it is hidden) and I literally have to sit on my hands to not go peek. I don't know how you ladies do/did it! :halo:

Modified Cushion: 3.23
F, VS2
Dimensions w 1 pointer halo: 11.94 x 10.35 (shared prong) my instructions were "I don't want to see any metal"
Halo tilted at 30 degrees downward
Sym: ex
Polish :ex
Sarin report:
Brightness: ex
Fire: v good
Scintillation: ex
69% depth
70% table
14% crown height
Cutlet: closed
Girdle: Thin to slightly thick faceted

Wide cathedral split shank (1 pointers per shank)
Pave on "basket style" struts that meet at a 2 pointer bezel on each side
Pave on shank under basket

It sounds like a beautiful ring! You can measure out the dimensions on a piece of paper, cut it out and put it on your finger to get an idea of the size and finger coverage - a tried and true PS trick!

I am kind of puzzled how someone who designed their own ring doesn't have any idea what it will look like! Surely you showed the jeweler examples of what you wanted, right? You perhaps saw excellent examples of his work and told him what you liked and what you wanted changed? I think you should know exactly what it is going to look like!

DS, I was a little confused at first too, but on re-reading the OP's posts I think she's wondering how big the stone/halo will look on her finger - that's the impression I got anyway!

Re: Please Help Rocky Talkers! What will this ring look like

Thanks both, yes I am moreso wondering how big the ring will look on my finger. In terms of its design I basically took pictures of about 10 different ring features that I loved from all, cut, pave type, basket shape, gallery, split shank, tilted halo, airline, cathedral height, bezel under the basket, width of split shank, well you get the point!

I haven't seen any similar dimensions to my ring on a 6.5 finger, especially with a split shank so just curious:)
Thanks for any insight you can share!

Okay, that would make a lot more sense!

A 10x12mm finished ring will be quite large! I agree that the best way to visualize that is to cut out those dimensions from a piece of paper and stick it on your finger.

As I said, it will be large because the diamond and halo are large, but I did want to mention that the table size has nothing to do with making the spread larger. It is the diameter of the stone that makes up the spread and the table can be small or large. A large table means there will be a small crown and whether that is good or not would be up to personal preference.

Your ring sounds beautiful! Come back with pictures when you officially get it!

Re: Please Help Rocky Talkers! What will this ring look like

Thanks Diamondseeker! Yep, have done that paper trick though it's difficult to imagine it in a split shank 8.94mm off my finger with the cathedral setting.

If you or anyone knows of any threads that show a ring with a similar dimension to finger size ratio I would love to see them!
