Aww, thanks! He sure is handsome but not my husband yet! Our elopement date is set for 10/30/13 and we're getting very excited!! :)) Thank you for the well wishes and sweet compliments on my ring!

That is the month of October, right? We got married on the 14th of October, it was a magical day. You will have the loveliest day and it will stay with you, forever! I'm so excited for you.

Yep! October 30th. It's the 3rd anniversary of the day we first met. We are soooo looking forward to it!

I was playing with my E-ring today, I really miss wearing it. The setting is so big...it literally spins around my finger. It's so sad...just for fun I took a few pictures with my camera phone.

WOW! It's beautiful!!

Hi Guys,

I'm sorry for being so decisive...I'm back again with a new idea. I've finally decided to reset my engagement ring to a setting similar to the attached picture. I've been admiring many many different settings (all so lovely) and have decided to go with a setting that has a little more bold-bigger. ;-) I've also included my current ring which is currently too big for my finger & the main reason for the reset. I was wondering if you guys have more examples of a setting like the attached so that I can show the designer more examples. I'm not sure if I will be able to afford another Leon creation but if I can swing it, his designs would be my first choice. Fingers crossed!

To recap...my engagement ring was beautifully set by ERD in a LEON 3 stone setting (2006).
(2.6ct diamond, H, SI2, Sides: 0.32ct pear each Finger size 6).

Thanks for your help!

Hi ello, was wondering how you like your re-set? Thank you.

Hi Sweet-blossom,

I have not moved forward with the reset as of yet. I'm still be decisive but also having a lot of fun looking at settings. So far I really love the 3 halo set best. I promise to update as soon as I'm ready to roll!

Hi guys

I was just in the family section saying hi after a very long absence. (Post: I've come full circle).

To recap...my engagement ring was beautifully set by ERD in a LEON 3 stone setting (2006).
(2.6ct diamond, H, SI2, Sides: 0.32ct pear each Finger size 6).

I still adore my setting...my poor husband might still be feeling the aftermath of it...hee-hee! The only problem is that after a very difficult few years I have lost quite a lot of weight (this is a good thing :appl: ). My original ring size was 6, I think my new size would be a 5 possibly 4.5-ish. My current ring is doing a spinning dance on my finger and it's just not safe to wear anymore. I would rather not resize the ring...I still love it so much, trading it is not an option either. We live very far from ERD so recreating the setting is not an option as well. There's also the issue that I might be a size 6 again (I go up and down all the time, I have a retail store from size 2 to 14 in my closest). :angryfire:

Lastly, since I've had a baby I feel that I need a stronger robust type of a setting. That's one thing about my original setting that has always bugged me...it's so dainty. Yet, so pretty.

SOOOOO, if I have not lost you all by now... In a nutshell, I'm thinking that I should keep the 3 stone for future weight gain and simply reset my center stone, the 2.6 diamond, in a very strong platinum setting. Similar to a Michael Bondanza Madison. Pictures attached. If you guys could suggest similar settings that are WOW I would be happy to take a lookie...Please let me know.

Thank you so much!
Your current settting is magnificent I don't care for the Michael...setting at all.

Your current setting is one of my favorites of all time. Many of us have worn even solitaire rings throughout the years of having small children with no problem. I have to assume you just want a new setting, because Leon could easily resize your e-ring or you could have sizing beads put in and then removed if you ever needed it larger again. Truly, I'd consider just getting another ring, maybe with a colored stone if you are craving a new setting. Your first one is so perfect and I am afraid it would not be the same if you remove the stone and later try to put it back in. There is no need to wear a diamond ring around the house while taking care of children or doing work around the house. Even if I had a full bezel setting, I would take care of my rings and not want it to get all scratched up. So again, my vote is to leave your e-ring alone and get sizing beads or resize, and then get a new ring for your anniversary! That last halo setting is perfect for a colored stone or diamond!

Hi guys,

I will explain my reset in detail very soon - Lots of exciting things happening on this side. Unfortunately I can't elaborate at the moment since I have a newborn (a beautiful cupcake named Magnolia) & my little boy of 3 years is very sick with a cold..daddy is sick too, so mommy dearest is playing nursemaid.

My 3-stone Leon was reset locally with a 9mm Mozambique Garnet. It is very special & fitting as I am from South Africa. The colour is gorgeous too and I actually wear it tons. I feel less fancy with the Garnet and don't stress so much about damaging the middle stone. I think it looks so pretty with the red contrast...so thrilled with the new setting.
The jeweller also placed a white gold insert into my ring (you have to look closely) to make the knife edge smaller.
I went down to a size 4. The insert can be removed so it's a great solution!

Here she is!!!

Both rings turned out beautifully! Enjoy!

Last pictures until I can find a better camera. My phone camera is really not doing the rings justice.

Thanks Sweet-Blossom, I am so pleased that the project is finally complete.

Arkie- I was actually very pleased with the changes to the 3 stone Leon setting. I think the colour contrast showcase the setting much better. I really enjoy wearing it now. No fuss or worries about wearing the ring daily and chipping the diamond and I really like the touch of red. The halo also added mega finger coverage and added protection for my larger diamond. I think now that I own a halo, I have to say that I prefer it in terms of safety and it is very comfortable. I feel like a princess! So happy!!!

I forgot to mention that I traded my wedding band and Tiffinay Atlas ring along with a few other jewelry items to make this project possible. There was no point holding onto pieces that were too large or never worn.

The store had this setting in stock which was my inspiration for the split shank halo.

okay, now I'm starting to play with the idea of a halo...

No. Not with kids if you want something lifestyle friendly and no fragile. There is nothing more fragile than pave (in terms of well made).
I agree with Gypsy. I have a two year old and wanted to be able to wear my ring without worrying, so I ended up doing a bezel. It allows me to wear my ring the majority of the day and not risk major damage to the setting or center diamond.

I personally don't think you have to abandon pave or a halo if you have kids. I received my current ering (avatar) 3-4 days after I found out that I was pregnant with my first. I proceeded to have 3 babies in under 3 years and I have never had a problem with lost melee or distortion of the ring. I don't usually wear my rings around the house, but its not because I am afraid of damaging them, but rather it helps to keep them clean. I don't have the time, for obvious reasons to clean them every day, and I'd rather not get food, spit up, poop, diaper cream, etc., gunked up in my pave. Also I probably wash my hands 20-30 times a day and the soap residue alone would dull my sparkle. I do usually wear it when I leave the house and have for years carried baby carriers and heavy grocery bags with my ring hand.

That being said, my stone is bezel set, and set so low that the culet of the diamond sits on my skin. It is practically like a band, and no, I don't even feel the culet on my finger even if the ring I pressed into my finger. It is incredibly comfortable.

Ello, both rings are fabulous!!! Congrats! :appl:

Wow, that is such a unique setting Ponder. I love it! I bet people stop you and marvel about it all time! Jaw dropping diamond too!!!
I agree with you, I was so worried about a halo type of setting around family but I really like it. In fact, if I ever have the opportunity to own a bigger or different shape of diamond, I will have it set in a halo too. It's very comfortable and I like the halo protection around the girdle.

Thanks Junebug...I adore your set as well. Soooo pretty and look at the finger coverage on that baby!!!
