Please Help Me Decide

I wouldn't purchase any diamond without a magnified photo of the stone and hopefully an idealscope image. I'd also have to know if the VS2 or SI1 stones were eyeclean from the top and sides. #1 and #3 have potential, but there is no way I'd order any of them without more info. Too many vendors offer photos and the other info...Good Old Gold, WhiteFlash, James Allen, etc.

They are all eye clean. Bluenile has the setting I really want.

If the setting is the only thing keeping you with BN, and getting outside opinions is important to you, you could post the setting. PSers may be able to suggest an alternative place to get a similar setting which would free you up to source the diamond elsewhere.

At the same time, I believe BN has a very good return policy, so you could bring the diamond to an appraiser to make sure it is what you wanted. Just my 2 cents.

All I can tell you from looking at the photos of "excellent" cut diamonds on the James Allen site is that they vary widely in symmetry, etc. I wouldn't buy without images.

What is the setting?

Yeah, I like the setting and feel comfortable with blue nile and their return policy. I was mainly wondering about G vs I color and eye clean SI1 vs eye clean VS2 clarity. If the clarity will be about the same, is it worth almost $300 to move up from an I color to a G color? There will be a blue sapphire halo around the center stone.

Thanks

Have you thought about going vintage since you are doing the sapphire halo? I mean that is a period style and here are a few other options.

This is a double halo

Not a halo but nice sapphire side stones

This one is in budget and just like you want but vintage and all put together and with a 1.5 center stone (although its an I clarity)

Good luck with whatever you choose :)

Just a quick response to the color question, for only $300 I would definately pick the G over the I. I have a G and am very happy with the "whiteness" of it.

Good luck

+1...I would pay the $300 to get the G. If we were talking $600+ I might think twice but for $300 I would go for a G over an I all
else being the same.
