Any opinions on this???

pictures didn''t upload correctly.

can you see them now?

you can see in the pictures it is a little bit rectangular.

It probably represents a good value?

What do you guys think of the idealscope performance? I see a lot of white which is bad, right? I think this represents light escaping? Also, does anyone think the crown height is a bit to low at 7.4%?
I'm definitly not looking for perfection, I just want to find a good deal for an above average diamond. For the price, would most of you go for this diamond? Or should I keep looking?

Anyone?

I am not a princess expert, Julie mentioned it is more rectangular, and I am also used to seeing more square princesses myself.

Interesting how pics can appear to be different than they really are. The stone pic looks rectangular to my eye, but the IS looks square. However, when you measure them on the screen the IS L/W = 1.052, the stone pic = 1.046, dim = 1.047 - so they really are all the same.

you should ask if there are dead spots.

the crown height is low, but the table is a good size, so it may be ok. ask if it has reduced fire. the payoff of low crown height is that this stone seems to be a bit bigger for the carat weight.

The IS looks kind of scary. I'd probably consider a couple more options, unless Whiteflash says this is a stone you want.

Thanks for you feedback JulieN. I sent whiteflash an email with some questions. I too am a bit scared by the idealscope. However, I am no expert by any means. Is it still possible that this is a beautiful diamond regardless of the idealscope image. According to some idealscope reference charts I have seen this is between fair and poor. Why then is the GIA symmetry rating VERY GOOD? I'm confused

. Hopefully whiteflash.com can give me some answers. Thanks again for you help. I really do appreciate it.

IS looks tilted and with the low crown and big table that means it is not going to be accurate.
Im not into princess cuts at all so about all I can tell you is talk to them and look at some options.

GIA symmetry rating has nothing to do with light performance at the EX/VG level.
The lab symmetry grade is grading facet meet points and alignment.
When the lab symmetry gets too low it can affect performance but above that point it has little to no effect on light performance.

Thanks for your feedback strmrdr. After speaking with the folks at whiteflash.com I have decided to move foward with this diamond and see it with my own eyes. I should be getting it on Monday or Tuesday and then taking it to a master gemologist here in San Diego.

I''ll be keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best!
