HELLO EVERYONE!
Okay so here is the limited info I got...I was in a rush and this is what I could pick up from the store...I know its not enough but lets hope its something! PLEASE excuse me for not knowing what to call these stats but I'm sure all you experts out there understand!!

SPECS:

1.52 Carats
Clarity: I1 (clean to the eye for some reason?)
Colour: H
Princess
Cut: GOOD
Depth: 4.63
Top(?): 6.2 x 6mm
PRICE: $6,500 CANADIAN our crazy dollar!!

The rest of the info I can get later but based on this stone so far I was wondering if $5,500 CAD is a good deal? The diamond is quite pretty, very sparkly...I was told the inclusions on this stone ARE there but they are just small and scattered...I don't know what to think, I have been many places in Toronto and am clueless...EXPERTS PLEASE HELP!!

I don't know if I should just leave this stone alone and look elsewhere or should I haggle the price a little and work with it?

CLUELESS and VERY EXCITED TO LEARN!!

ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

THANKS ALOT

<-------------QUITE CONFUSED!!

Irem: I'm sorry, but the information you've provided isn't nearly enough to tell you if this is a good deal or not.

You didn't list the color, for openers.....and even if you did, this just isn't enough information to give any kind of meaningful opinion. It's like saying, "I know I don't have enough information, but here's a 4-door, black car.....the price is $20K....is it a good deal?" NO way to know.....not nearly enough information.

Sorry....you need to get information. Don't rush....it makes for regretted choices later.

I'm reposting my (modified) advice.

Please stay clam, relax and do not panic.

I 1's can be somewhat pretty and are amazing values, if you don't care for the slightly eye-visible inclusions. Are you sure you don't want let's say a 1.20ct stone in SI 2 clarity? As I said, I 1's can be great if you know what you're getting.

You haven't mentioned any report... Is it certified? By whom?

I don't know exactly what a 'good' cut means without having additional details... The depth is 77.2%, so the stone is a bith deep. Is the girdle thick? and is the table large? Can you get some more info?

That said, a fairly nice, properly graded I 1 H-color stone should cost about 3.5 to 4K (US $) on the net, so I'd say at least 4-5K at a B&M store.

Follow aljdewey's advice... Try to know as much as possible about this diamond!

Hi

I do think you need more info on the table and depth if you are going to work out how good a cut this stone has and whether it is a good deal.

Recommended proportions
for princess cut diamonds:
Depth: 68-73.9%
Table: 65-75%

I doubt that any experts will pass further comment without more info on which to base their decision.

As far as the clarity goes, I have a ring with 3 I1 diamonds. I can't see any inclusions in the stones, but they are round cut (harder to see the inclusions) and much smaller stones than yours. Mine are .44/.33/.33

Some inclusions are white or clear and quite hard to see. If you can't see them, why worry about them. Such a stone could be a great deal. I know my own ring was very reasonably priced, due in part, to the I1 grading.

You can do your own price comparison if you do a search on any of the diamond inventories on the web for stones with similar specs to the one you're looking at, but here's one I found at random. Sorry, I couldn't find an I1 on this site.

1.51
Color: H
Clarity: SI2
Shape: Princess
Depth %: 75.6
Table %: 82
Polish: Good
Symmetry: Good
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 6.22-6.11X4.62
Lab: EGL
Price $6,000 approx

Anyone got any idea GENERALLY how much a 1.52, Color H, I1 diamond goes for? I am checking the sites and there are no I1's...of course I am limited on sites, still learning..

Any info would be GREAT!!

have a GREAT DAY guys....and LADIES of course!

Irem: It could GENERALLY vary by several thousand dollars....it depends on the cut, the veracity of the grading, etc., etc., etc.

Please understand......it's not that no one wants to help you. Again, you aren't getting responses because you simply have not provided enough information for anyone to give you a meaningful reply.

If you can get information that several people have told you is important, you'd have much better success getting a reply.

I hope this helps you understand how important that information is.

Thanks EVERYONE for all the replies to MY OTHER POSTS! All information was greatly appreciated! I guess some people on here are under the impression this is the only post I made with this similar question.... I guess I'm new to this and its fresh but last time I checked isn't it usually WISE to check some other posts before assuming and making a COMMENT?

Have a GREAT DAY....!!

Pardon me for pointing this out, but you're not supposed to start multiple posts asking the same question repeatedly. So no, it is *not* wise or standard to go looking for other posts.

And "assuming"?????? Three separate people have told you that you need to get more information, and you ignore them all and continue to bump the thread asking for input......."anyone, anyone, anyone, PLEASE HELP." The comment was intended to *help* you....which is what I understood you to be asking for. Obviously, my mistake......there will be no further comments here. Someone else can help you.

WOW, this is better than I thought! These posts seem to have a severe impact on peoples posts....who would have ever thought a complete stranger could react to some typed words...I LOVE IT!

I never meant to OFFEND anyone, well partly due to the fact that I didn't think people really look things on here to heart, I apologize if you were offended in anyway and I am quite anxious to know if you take strangers comments so negatively or am I the only lucky one?

I again apologize that you responded the way you did and took my post as negatively as you did....VERY SORRY! I will try to be more careful when making a post.....

Regards and SOOOO SORRY to have inconvienced you in any way
