Hi Everyone,

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

Is there anything I should be concerned with in regards to this diamond? Is $9,172/carat a good price for this stone? It is an I color.

I already ran it through the HCA and it scores a 1.2. Everything is excellent except for the spread, which is "very good." How come the polish is only "very good" according to the HCA when the cert says excellent polish?

61.5% depth, 56.6% table, 35° crown angle, 40.7° pavilion angle
The result is for a symmetrical diamond with a medium girdle and very good polish

Looks like a nice stone - the HCA *assumes* it is a symmetrical stone with very good polish. It doesn't rate the polish - only eyeballs can do that with the stone in hand!

Looks great - what size is the stone?

Yep, looks great! But we can't tell a thing about price without size and clarity!

Thanks for the help! It's a 1.8, Si1 for about 16,800.

.

P.S. The inclusions are clouds and feathers. Are feathers bad?

sounds about right- but you can use the search function and plug in the stats and see what comparable stones are going for...

Thanks, Amy! What does the green in the center of the ASET mean?

You dont' need to worry about ASET with RBs unless you want to (i.e., enjoy that type of thing). The IS image is more important.

This is a top top cut. You can nit pick about details if you *want*, but you don't need to. You have made a good choice.

I cannot comment on price since you have not told us color, but this vendor is usually very competitive for online companies selling H&A diamonds.

Hi dreamer, this is an I. Thank you so much for your advice/comments.

^ thank you so much everyone!

I think it is a terrific choice!

Lovely stone!
From the ASET and the IS images it doesn't look like the clouds are interfering with light perfomance in any way. Feathers are usually only bad if they are on the girdle/break the surface of the diamond somewhere.

Green on an ASET means it is collecting and reflecting light from the sides of the room - windows and table lamps) ( red is the upper sides, upper corners and ceiling of the room - where our light fixtures are and the sun if outside), blue is directly above - usually darkened by the shadow of your head.

The HCA won't give an excellent on spread (how wide the diamond is for it's depth) for any really well scoring diamonds. For excellent spread a diamond would have to be cut shallow, which would in turn give poor light performance.

A fine choice, you should be very happy.
