Ok, I need some hlep here. I was looking at some diamonds from a seller who is overing diamond he claims are hearts and arrows cut diamond that are also clarity enhanced and he also claims they are color enhanced with the new process by general electric. He claims the diamonds are in the vvs1-vs1 range and are D-F color. Heres the catch... The prices he is giving me are very very low. Like around 1,000 a carat

. I asked him serveal times to make sure they are real genuine diamonds and he said yes. He owns and sells diamonds at a jewelers store in new jersey I have done some resesearch and everything checks out. He also accept direct credit card payment so I would most likley be protected if I make the purchase. If anyone has any ideas on this I would be very greatful. Does this sound like a fraud and he is going to send me a CZ or something

Foothill999,

Many questions here. I would approach each separately if I were you. Start by spending a little time reading the tutorial at the top of the page and browsing this forum.

Fracture filled diamonds: There has been lots of discussion on this topic. Use the forum search feature for discussions on ‘fracture fill’, ‘clarity enhanced’, and ‘Yehuda’.

Color treatement by GE: This is known as HPHT and there has been quite a bit of discussion on this. Search the same way as the above.

Hearts and Arrows is discussed pretty thoroughly in the tutorial. I’ve never heard of an H&A certificate number but there may be a way to investigate it further with the company that issued the report. Perhaps the number is from some other kind of document, like a lab report, that might be useful.

when i was trading rare coins rule #1 never by a coin that has been repair ,in this case enhanced diamonds you are better off buying a CZ.
