This diamond might look attractive, it isn't the Superideal cut we normally see here, but it may look nice. It scored over 2 on the HCA with anything under 2 being preferred. If you want a " nice make' of diamond then this might be it, but if you want the best performing diamond you can get, keep looking. Also I take it the high colour and clarity are important to you? Some prefer this for various reasons, but just to let you know you can drop these and still have a very white and clean diamond if you wish. It is said anything above good for polish and symmetry is undetectable by the untrained naked eye, some prefer at least EX EX, but the scores on this diamond for both are usual.

Is this diamond with an online vendor? Best advice is if so, to ask for an Idealscope image to catch any leaky areas, this results in the diamond being less sparkly if so and also a pic of the diamond. Or look some more.

I think you can do better......cut is #1 most important to most of us here on pricescope and for good reason. I found a couple of ACA diamonds on whiteflash close to your price range that are bigger and would be top notch cut. For example:

I think F color is gorgeous, but you could drop to a G or H in an ideal cut and not notice a difference IMO. VVS1 is way overkill on clarity to me. You would not notice a difference in a VS or maybe even a good eye clean SI1.

And dropping the color and clarity plus going with a better cut and you''ll have a bigger and much more gorgeous diamond.

Pictures would be nice......... Idealscope would be great as well. If it is an online vendor here, just reserve it and post the numbers and images.

Personally, if it scored over a 2 on the HCA, means you can find better stones. I would pass on this one for now.

If you stick with GIA excellent cut and at least very good on polish and symmetry, you''ll have a better chance of finding a nice stone. Just a note, you can get VS1 clarity and barely see any inclusions (or none) under 10x magnification. So VVS is paying for something microscopic that you can''t see even with a loupe.

What is your reason for choosing a VVS1?

Just as a frame of reference I just bought a .610 5.41-5.45mm AGS 0 Hearts and Arrows, E color, VS2 for 2,040. It is TOTALLY eye clean from all sides--in fact its a bitch to find the inclusion from the top with a loupe unless lighting and angles are perfect for it and it can be quite tricky from the side with a loupe unless the lighting is excellent for finding inclusions. Otherwise you won't see anything in it at all. But I don't have much experience with a loupe.

But anyway, your call.

I just like to have VVS1 for my stone and it just easier for me in the future if i want to trade it in or resale it.
