Hi,

I will be picking up my fiancee''s e-ring on Friday, but we are immediately leaving on a week-and-a-half trip. So, I was wondering if anyone could recommend an independant appraiser within reasonable driving distance (100 miles) of Burlington, VT? I''ll take suggestions in neighbouring NH and northern NY state as well. I notice none are listed on the PS list.

I don''t forsee there being any problems, but I would like an independant appraisal before my 10 day return period expires on the off-chance that I''d need to high-tail it back to CT to rectify the problem (knock on wood).

If no one knows of an independant appraiser, is there a trusted jeweler in that area that can do the job?

Thanks.

Hi Andrew,

If you can't find one in your area (I know it will be difficult in the Burlington area)check for an AGS member store in your locale. They oftentimes will have an accredited lab on site. I am not in the office right now and am happy to look in the membership directory for you if you need more help. Cindy

Boston too far?

Cindy,

Thank you for your offer of assistance and if you have any suggestions, I will welcome them.

Hi,

In Burlington, Fremeau Jewelers have an accredited gem lab and have five certified gemologists on staff. That is a good place to start. Rutland has two CG's at Freeman Jewelers but no accredited lab. Let us know if this works! Cindy

Cindy,

I looked on the AGS website and found a David A Lantz CGA in Newport, NH. His website is www.mjharrington.com.

Do you think that's probably my best option?
