hello,

two stones currently on hold, would love feedback. both stones fall below <2.0 on hca tools rating.

here is info from the gemologist report they sent in email

I'm happy to say that diamond 1444580 has excellent fire and brilliance and is the brightest of your selections. It has a nice white G color performance and its inclusions blend very well. The gemologist feels that the diamond will face perfectly eye clean to the untrained eye. According to the gemologist, its idealscope image is misleading due to the indicated light leakage that this diamond simply doesn't have.

Diamond 1447802 has great light performance but isn't quite as bright as diamond 1444580. Its medium blue fluorescence has no negative impact. It has a slightly warmer H color performance and will also likely face eye clean to the untrained eye.

Both of these diamonds are great options but diamond 1444580 will offer you the strongest sparkle. It'll look great when mounted and I believe you'll be pleased with its overall beauty.

when i spoke with their customer service, they recommended 1447802 instead of 1444580. the ideal scope looks like 1444580 has a lot of light leakage, but in the email the gemologist said not to worry??

thanks in advance!

cheers.

I like the G colored stone myself, the H has medium blue floresence so its effect is hard to say. Whats the price difference in these stones?

Re: Please critique between two RB on hold. ideal scope atta

price difference is apprx $600 more for the G color stone.

Sorry OP, I am also pretty new to this forum and learning, but I just am curious to know what do they mean by "
According to the gemologist, its idealscope image is misleading due to the indicated light leakage that this diamond simply doesn't have." :?: this sounds kinda weird to me. :?

I'm guessing they mean the IS may cause unnecessary concern and that IRL the stone is a sparkler, the leakage causing no negative visual effects. But they should've said just that, the statement above is both factually incorrect and misleading - of course the light is doing what it's doing and the tool is giving us a clinical perspective.

I'm always inclined to trust a knowledgeable representative's eyes. But it's always best to have the stone shipped to you loose and inspect it with your own eyes to be sure that you love it :sun:

Re: Please critique between two RB on hold. ideal scope atta

i think the first stone table looks like it has a inclusion in the very center of the stone.

the 2nd stone bothers me that the IS has a lot of light leakage..

still looking for a 1 CT G/H SI/SI2 eye clean RB

Re: Please critique between two RB on hold. ideal scope atta

I like the G Si1 because I like G color in diamonds, it is my favourite. There are no inclusions in the center, that is the culet resting on something. Look at the clarity plot!

Actually, looking again, the H is pretty nice.

I think you are getting analysis paralysis, either of these would be wonderful options.

I'm pretty much a diamond nOOb myself, but if you look in the online photo, and drag the virtual loupe over the 3 o-clock position, I think that is what you are seeing in the IS image. The IS image is rotated from the online photo, but it's the same thing. Can't tell you anything about how that affects the stone. Did you read the inclusion description in the report to get a better idea of what it is?

Re: Please critique between two RB on hold. ideal scope atta

it is a cavity on the girdle. although the CS rep says it is prongable..im not sure if that is safe? will i run into issues down the road? reliability etc. geeze, too much stress with this whole deal
