Hello all,

I''m working out the details for a custom ring. I really love pave baskets, and have incorporated that into my setting. I just got the renderings from the jeweler, and was surprised to see that the basket looks low - like it''s going to touch the top of the shank. Thought that might be kinda funny looking. But then, I did a quick PS search, and it looks like other rings - e.g. the Ritani endless love - have a pave basket that sits low like that. So - I''m looking for opinions. Basket sitting higher, or basket sitting lower? I''m attaching visual aids: the renderings from my jeweler, as well as an example of a higher basket (Slammie) and an example of a lower basket (Ritani).

Hi AceP, it's a beautiful project, i think you may like this "donut" at the level it is right now more if melee would not face down as on the original picture on the left, but orient horizontally as i horribly photoshopped on the right. it's also going to show more just because of the angle.

ETA oh, and the trade-of of a higher donut (which is able to accommodate mote melee and is very attractive because it's more visible too) is that it covers more diamond's side than the lower one.

They are both beautiful, geez...really beautiful. For me, I would probably go for the lower basket. I tend to like lower settings in general. The lower basket 'appears' to be set lower.

I like your ring the way it is right now. It looks like the Ritani ring you posted, which looks gorgeous !!
