Thank you for reading my post.

I recently got a new diamond wedding ring set created in platinum. However, the ring looks more white in color then grey. Could there be a reason for this? I like my ring to be a bit more on grey side as the diamond to stand out. please advice. thank you.

I've read that some companies rhodium plate their platinum. Could this be why it's so white? Where did you buy it?

Here is some past discussion RE platinum v white gold, which is frequently rhodium-plated.

From that thread; here's a Stuller chart showing relative whiteness for many common alloys.

New platinum is always white and shiny (unless it has a purposely brushed finish). The gray patina appears over time with wear as your rings develop fine scratches. Don't worry, it will happen over time (maybe years) if you never polish your rings! (And ever if they are rhodium plated, that wears off, too.)
