Platinum 900 vs. 950????

When buying an eternity band on a platinum setting is there a real big difference between 900PT and 950PT? I was told that there''s really no big difference between the two, but its weight and price...900PT is probably better in a long run. Is that statement correct?

I recently had my E-ring and wedding band customed made with 900 platinum and 100 iridium. I was told that this combination is stronger than the 950 platinum/50 iridium combination and as a result will not only be shinier but also have less scratches. I'm looking at it right now and it is very bright and shiny and sooooooo nice and heavy!!!! Actually, this was the primary reason we had our rings customed made because most jewelers and pre-made settings use the 950/50 combination!!!!
