Plating YG band with Platinum head?

I am on a budget and I found the ring I want but it has a YG band (instead of WG or Platinum which I would prefer) to go with the platinum head. I was wondering if it would look funny to plate just the yellow gold band to WG?

I have read numerous posts about the WG Rhodium plating fading and the need to get it replated but I don't plan on wearing my e-ring everyday after I get married. I.e. I would only wear the two together for special occasions.

Question 1: Will the plated WG band look bad with a platinum head?
Question 2: Would a WG band next to a plain platinum wedding band look funny?

The ring is an old T&Co ring that has a YG band and a platinum head. Is it possible to remove the head and put it on another band? I slightly remember reading something about they are built together? (I could be totally wrong though)

Ive seen a ring replated to a different color, its not a pretty sight.
