Read about it and see the pictures here:

What do you guys think? Is this a great idea? Terrible? Poor judgment? And what do you think about the class segregation idea? Is it offensive, or justified in its attempt to be authentic? Do modern cruise ships have restricted areas for upper class passengers? I've never been on one, so I wouldn't know.

Would you be a passenger on the Titanic II?

Well, that's a little ... macabre.

I also can't quite imagine who would want to role-play steerage.

I love Edwardiana, but I'd rather find something that wasn't quite so tragic to enjoy it, though.

If offended don't sail on it.
I suspect they did their homework and understand there will be plenty of customers.
People vary.

There is no one right way that is 'out there' and applies to everyone, unless we're talking about something like murder ... oh wait ... war is widely agreed to be a groovy thing.

Interesting.. but I'd say for me, I would NOT be interested. I find the macabre overtones are playing to the voyeurs. For me, I'd rather respect the horror that took place and honour the ship and its ill fated passengers in other ways. This would not be a trip I'd be attending.

But, I'm with Kenny, people vary and I'm sure they have researched it well and it will be filled on its "maiden voyage", just like the original one was...

I'll betcha the maiden voyage will not be in the winter, nor will it go anywhere near iceburgs.

I wonder if anyone on it will carry a blue diamond.

I'm not personally offended but I doubt I'll be sailing on it. I haven't completely decided how I feel about it yet.

Why would anyone name a ship Titanic? Aren't there naming conventions about this sort of thing? Nope, not interested.

Name recognition, fame, legend ... IOW, money.

I won't be sailing on it either, or any other cruise ship.
Not my thing.

I personally wouldn't do it and I love cruising. It just seems wrong and disrespectiful to those that lost their lives on board that ship.

At first I was like, "eww... weird" but then I was thought of civil war reenactments and similar gruesome historical events that we "play". Both those that enjoy participating and those that enjoy watching.
