I know EGL isn''t highly regarded here, but lately I have seen some beautiful EGL diamonds and am considering purchasing one. I would love to see pics of PS''ers EGL diamonds. Please mention color and clarity if you post pics. :)

An EGL certificate doesn''t automatically turn diamonds into ugly rocks

A beautiful diamond can be graded by any lab - or even uncertified. Many people are suspicious of EGL grading because it is rather "soft" and grades are usually higher than what would be assigned by another, more rigorous lab.

My stone is an EGL USA D SI1... And it actually IS a D color. I have had 2 separate GIA GG''s look at it. It''s a stunning stone.

Here are a few pics...

Here are a couple of pics of my diamond (the 2.01 EGL Israel H&A stone). The cert says that it is G SI1 ex/ex.

Cellentani, I love the design of yours!

This is a great thread. I didn't know some of my favorite PS rings were EGL instead of the highly sought after(often premium priced) GIA. Love, love, love these rings!

Wow, thank you, gemgirl! Actually, those are old pics that I just re-posted. I''ve been getting lots of practice with gemstones, so maybe I should give it another shot...

I have one!!! Just got it, turns out my other stone that I got from (wont mention it....), had a crack in it!!!!!!! FURIOUS!!!

But, needless to say, I ended up with an F colored SI2 Ideal cut diamond .98ct, that IS EGL certified. And I''m proud of that just because I''m European

That pic was way too small, hopefully this one is better! I really love the stone, it''s far better than what I had before!!!
