Attached you will find a series of pictures of my "J" diamond in a "fake" setting which I received a couple of days ago....we''re taking it to the appraiser today!
By the way Imurden, the setting is only the fake spring that the diamond was shipped in. I have not had it mounted yet...but thanks for the compliment anyway!
Your new diamond is really nice! Congrats on the purchase. Be sure to post pictures when you get it set in your setting.
I've been thinking about looking at some I & J's for earrings but I am not sure. I stopped at a mall store and saw a REALLY badly cut J that really looked yellow to me. I think what I really need to do is look at ideal cut I & J's to get a really good idea.
I think that's an excellent idea Melanie. I was really skeptical about a "J" and originally looked at H's until someone on this board mentioned that an I or J color would look excellent if the cut was right. Also, "eye clean" helped immensely. Taking all of that in consideration, my fiance and I are more than pleased with the diamond and it's cost! Lastly, remember, although they're at the high end, I & J's are still considered near colorless diamonds!
