Hello All,

I'm looking to get a E-ring from JA soon and have picked a few stones which I think look good (granted, I have zero experience with this).

Could someone take a look at my choices and maybe help me narrow it down a bit? I'll then try to ask for an ASET or Idealscope image from JA.

List is in no particular order.

Thanks in advance!

Here's my very non expert view while waiting for others to chime in:

The first stone looks like it has a slight brownish tint on my iPad screen?
The next 2 have larger tables (>58%) than is normally suggested, more of a 60:60 type cut.

I like the H (scores 0.9 on the HCA, which is good) and the True Hearts looks lovely (and has an AGS cert). I'd be looking at them.

Thanks for the replies. I want to have 2-3 options before asking JA for ASET or Idealscope images.

I'm only looking at JA since there's a setting that I'm set on getting from them.
My budget is around $5-5.6k (willing to go a few hundred higher for something nice).
~1.0 carat.

Are there any other stones on JA that you guys would recommend based on these criteria?

What about these ones?

Here is my take on it. I really only like the first one if the stone was for me. I do not like lower crowns. Some of these are on the deep side
and facing up smaller than they should for their carat weight.

Which setting do you like?

https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...f-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-2499048 Yes
https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...-color-vvs1-clarity-very-good-cut-sku-3020805 No, not well cut
https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...h-color-vs1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-3108641 ok
https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...i-color-vs1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-3083958 No

Thanks for suggestions Rockysalamander.

I'll see if I can get ASET/Idealscope images for those JA diamonds you listed.

I'll browse some other vendor's settings again too.

Wondering whether the IS image was taken just ever so slightly askew given the white showing up from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock under the table?

Before I bought mine (you can check my post), this diamond is in my wish list too:
https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...rat-i-color-vs1-clarity-ideal-cut-sku-3056542
HCA score: 1.0, AGS 0000 with ASET in certificate, Ideal scope in above link
See if it is within your budget.

I looked at that diamond initially. It'll be stretching my budget slightly.
The diamond looks slightly on the yellow side though =\

I'm looking to have this set in platinum, so worried that it'll be obvious?

Can you explain a bit what you mean? I thought the white parts were just indications of light leakage?

I also think it is on the yellow side from the 360 video, but I think you cannot tell different in real life. I didn't choose this finally because I prefer fat arrows :D

I have another one in my wish list:
http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd/9179334/round-diamond-I-color-VS1-Clarity?sku=9179334
but I have asked several guys and they all told me to be caution to buy on B2C.
If you are interested, ask them for 360 video or additional photos.
And I just figured out (after my purchase from JA : / ) using the affiliate link from pricescope, the price of this diamond is reduced to $4,632 from $5,200, but you have to order the setting from them as well.

They can be indications of light leakage. They can also be caused by photography issues (like the camera being off center or the stone not being placed properly). I'm not an expert on interpreting IS images due to my sometimes quick jumping to a conclusion of light leakage when white sections show up on IS images.

Hence my personal preference for ASET over IS for scope images to determine light performance of a stone.

Others on here have far more experience than I do.

Sorry for being difficult and asking you guys to look at so many diamonds...

But I have gotten scope images for 2 other diamonds which I'm interested in.

Can you guys take a look?

https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...h-color-vs1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-3108641
3108641ID.jpg

and

https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...g-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-3092557
3092557ID.jpg

Judging from the images alone, it was seem like 3092557 is the better one?
There is an inclusion which I'm afraid my be visible....

Thanks in advance!

Quick bump, would appreciate any feedback.

I've been doing some more reading, and it looks like the crown angle at 36 may be a bit too much?

Also really been humming and hawing over that inclusion. Do you guys think it'll be very noticeable in a halo setting?

JA has these on hold for me till tomorrow.
