pick me out a good stone

Other specs you are working with that budget?

VS2-SI1 D-G

H&A seems impressive; is it worth the extra expense?

wow, you're good. just like that.

i'm glad i found this forum. i don't have the eye.

is there a marked difference between GOG and WF?

thanks.

Stonecold: this list is helpful. i'll try looking at it, but truthfully, i don't know what i'm looking at. i don't have the gift.

thanks,

Stone-cold has picked out some beautiful stones. These last 2 from WF are very nice choices and any one of them would be perfect. It's not like one is better than the other, it's just your preference. The cuts are all very close.

Me? I like bigger.

stonecold, these are both great picks. i'm struck by how the non H&A stone is so similar in quality.

swingirl, your avatar pic is beautiful. bigger is nice; the setting i have chosen houses a .80 carat maximum:

http://www.vancraeynest.com/pierced.html ring style 1021. i've selected platinum so i felt a higher grade in color would be best.

ps. is a G stone suitable for a platinum setting?

For that size, you will probably not notice any difference unless the stones are side by side with a D/E and you are very color sensitive.

Thank you. My ring is an 18kt white gold antique (1915-20) with a .50 ct OEC. The setting you picked is beautiful. I love the pierced style. Have you considered an antique cut stone? Or a modern cut stone in an antique cut pattern?
