photoshop help...should my dress have a sash?

So, I was thinking, I really love my dress, but its possible that a slightly different colored sash would emphasize my waist more...can anyone help me on seeing what this looks like?

PS there is a sash currently, it is just part of/the same color as the dress itself..

hmm. i don''t think so. i love how the silky sash breaks up the lace nicely, and matches the bottom of your dress. i think that a different color might make the dress too busy and take away from how classy and elegant it is right now... it''s perfect and gorgeous the way it is!

I think a wider sash would make the dress look like a monique lhuillier. I bought a champagne colored sash on Ebay, I didn''t end up wearing the dress I bought the sash for but it definitely dressed it up!

Hmmm...don''t hate me for saying this, but I think the colored sash looks a bit little girly - I think the one that matches the dress is more grown-up and sophisticated and romantic looking.

I like the thin sash but think no sash looks nice too. the coloured sash does emphasize your waist a bit more to my eye - but im no expert thats for sure

I like the thin sash in a champagne or earth-toned color, but not the wider sash. It also looks great as it stands.

To be absolutely honest, your dress looks gorgeous just as is. The sash seems to take away from the elegance of the dress.

I showed all three options to my fiance, and his vote was for no sash. Personally, I love the look of the wider sash. I guess that did nothing to help, but there you go.

One more thought - I feel like when the dress is actually fitted perfectly to you, your waist will be plenty emphasized (especially since its so petite to begin with!)

Yes. I couldn''t figure out what it was exactly, but I agree that the coloured sash ''shortens'' you a bit. I really don''t think you need it.

Thanks everyone, looks like in general people are leaning towards "no sash" (well, the sash that is already there).

The reason I was asking is because a dress I was trying on earlier in the shopping process looked MUCH better with a sash - but maybe just because it was a different design? I''ll put a photo...

PS The dress below is NOT in the running - I have purchased the dress above, so no "oooh I like this one much better on you" even if that''s what you''re thinking

For your dress, I think the sash as it stands is gorgeous. With the second dress you posted, the sash in the darker colour makes it, but not for your dress. Yours is spectacularly beautiful just as it is.

Ditto what Gwen said - your dress already has a visual division at your waist, with the change in fabric and the additional fullness in the skirt. In that other dress (which doesn''t even hold a candle to your actual dress, IMO), the sash added visual interest because it was the same all the way down.
