Photo Printing Question

I had a Christmas card made and it's a jpeg formatted to 5x7, I ordered 4x6 prints, dumb, I know, what's going to happen to be wrong with my card?

It'll be 4 x 6, rather than 5 x 7.

There should be no problem sizing down a jpeg... or at least I hope whoever is doing it for you knows how to do it properly.

I emailed it to a big box store to be printed. It was $25 more at both places I price-checked for 5x7s, so I ordered 4x6s without thinking it through. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Because they're slightly different in proportion, if they merely shrunk the jpeg to 4x6, there will be some distortion. If they shrunk and cropped, you'll be fine. Good luck!

Ditto vc, they will usually crop rather than just size it down because it will be inevitable that you will come back to them asking why it looks so stupid. Hopefully it doesn't crop too much!

If you use shutterfly You can preview the pictures in 4x6 5x7 etc... and then send them to a target store, I believe...

But yeah, I'm pretty sure it'll be cropped..

The cards were cropped and looked wonky, so my husband encouraged me to have them reprinted, now they look perfect.
