Wedding is in four days and have impulsively decided to purchase a double bail solitaire pendant from Blue Nile (ER and studs also from BN). Need opinion on size of stone. Earrings are .40 each, ER is 1.51 and was considering .50 - .60 for the pendant. Also looked at .40 with bezel setting but not sure if she would like the appearance. We both like F, VS2 and platinum so will continue with those specs to be consistent. Based on the size of the other pieces and her figure (5''1, 105 lbs, size 3 ring), is a half carat appropriate and worth the price (total budget is < $2,500)? Should I pass and purchase something larger for Xmas or another time? Thanks!

I have studs that are .58 each/ering 1.40. I am wanting a pendant myself, and personally think a .75-80 ish would be a nice size. It''s all personal, but if it were me, I''d wait and buy something a bit bigger later on.

Either way though, it''s a lovely thought!

And good luck with your big day!

My studs are 0.37 each, and my pendant is 0.53. I think it''s a nice size difference. You definitely want the pendant to be a little bigger than the studs, so I''d try to get closer to 0.60 if possible.

Ditto the ladies and it is a very lovely thought and I know your wife to be will think its wonderful! I think a half carat is a lovely size for a pendant.

Thanks for commenting. Still undecided but did just receive an email from BN for 10% off any setting. Will post pics if there is a purchase.
